A high school student I have worked with since Freshman year is now going to graduate early this December... an insane amount of growth since he started and his mom gave me a really sweet shout out at his IEP.
I have three AAC users who are loving to explore and find new icons of interest. One of my SIT students imitates all my facial expressions and I must always have surprised eyes haha.
We got apps! (most of them...)
Small victory - one of my DHH kiddos was finally placed at KSD which is where he needed to be since the beginning of the school year. I will miss him so much but happy-cried when this finally happened!
We had a student move to the correct setting for his needs! It took 1.25 years to complete
Oh YOU'RE Miss Kyra! She spells your name with her letters at home all the time!
I have a student who is minimally speaking and she's working on expanding utterances. When we were walking through the gym she independently said
because the students were running around really quickly.
October IEP Month is OVER!!
I officially dismissed my first kiddo! We had a
with cupcakes. She didn't realize that
meant she didn't get to come to my room anymore and was sad to find out but she asked to earn lunch with me soon!
My non-verbal SAILS students got invited to the next level SAILS Halloween party. So wonderful to see how proud they were and how much fun they had.
A kiddo with a slushy /s/ produced a perfect /s/ this week!
We had two kiddos try a new eye gaze system with amazing results!
Excited for the AAC devices my kids are using with help from Emily!!
Got to attend LAMP training

My psych was able to visit in person this week!
Students have been engaged and enjoying therapy.
My students in SAILS 2 make me feel great every time I see them.
my grad student from KU is incredible!!
I had a student celebrate getting his /skw/ clusters.
I'm sure I laughed at one point...
I saw a kiddo at Quindaro tried LAMP he used two-word phrases in 5 minutes!
I dismissed three kids last week and had one DNQ!
Celebrated a SAILS student as EC Student of the Month
Name what do you say?
Thank you??
Dismissed an SLP only student!
Love meeting all these new students and staff!
Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl!!! Yea!!!
I successfully had a student placement changed!
We might be getting a hang of this leads thing! Maybe??
One of my students with CAS began speaking in sentences in the past two weeks.
Teachers are doing pretty well at keeping AAC devices for specific students available and charged! Doing their best to learn and model too.
A few of my SAILS students and I cleaned the teacher's lounge and had a blast.
