Walt Disney was one of the most influential figures in 20th century entertainment and pop culture. Born in 1901 in Chicago Disney started his career as an animator and began creating Mickey Mouse and other beloved animated characters in the 1920s. In the 1930s he pioneered the first feature-length animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In the 1950s Disney expanded into television with shows like The Mickey Mouse Club. His crowning achievement was opening Disneyland in 1955 which set the standard for family theme parks. Though he passed away in 1966 his company and creative legacy continue to entertain and inspire people around the world. Throughout his life Disney reimagined animation film and amusement parks bringing joy to generations of children and adults.
