My
art
journey
has
not
been
a
straight
road
that
it
for
sure.
There
has
been
a
lot
of
twists
and
turns
and
ups
and
downs.
About
5
years
ago
I
never
thought
I
would
pursue
a
college
education
in
the
arts
and
then
plan
my
career
on
it.
I
didn’t
understand
how
much
I
could
do
with
art
in
fact
I
didn’t
even
think
that
it
was
possible
for
a
person
to
become
a
successful
artist
and
if
they
did
I
just
thought
they
got
lucky.
I
didn’t
know
of
any
successful
art
careers.
But
now
I
know
differently.
I
can
trace
back
five
years
ago
to
my
first
experience
where
I
was
exposed
to
a
wealth
of
knowledge
of
how
people
can
use
art
and
creativiety
in
their
careers.
That
was
when
I
had
attended
a
camp
known
as
Design
Week
at
Brigham
Young
University.
BYU
art
majors
were
councilors
for
the
event
and
I
was
put
in
a
group
of
other
kids
my
age
with
a
camp
councilor
who
I
am
still
friends
with
today.
She
was
an
influential
example
to
me
and
currently
she
runs
her
own
business
and
successful
social
media
page.
She
showed
me
by
her
example
of
kindness
by
helping
me
finish
my
painting
project
for
the
week
and
taking
the
time
to
give
me
advice
that
a
successful
artist
cannot
be
selfish
or
belittling.
They
focus
on
others
by
inspiring
them
and
helping
them
express
themselves.
