to see the lines of lives is a dismal gift. how are you meant to form a connection with someone who is destined to leave you behind in each and every lifetime? it’s not advised — it’s far from wise. (you’ll do it anyway.) oh but there’s always that unspoken possibility: maybe you’ll see them again next year or next millennium or next who-knows-when. (that’s a new heartbreak all its own.) will they know you? will they remember? probably not unless they’re of the sea — the kind that sees something older than even the celestine. (the kind that lives forever in limbo like you.) there’s a certain comfort to looking at someone and knowing they too are gifteddoomed like you – to infinity. to eternity. to perpetuity. (is this any way to live?) when you cannot die it becomes the only thing you do.
