Many years ago our father Ibrahim (alayhissalam) faced a profound test of faith. He deeply loved his son but love for God was greater. When commanded to sacrifice it wasn't son that ultimately sacrificed attachment anything could rival devotion God. The lesson here is when we let go such attachments what often returned us purified and enhanced. As reflect during these sacred days sacrifice us each consider: attachments do need strengthen God?
